PACE BUREAU HOLDS REGULAR MEETING
Paris, 15 December (AzerTAc). Regular meeting of the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe was held in Paris on 14 December. The Bureau members have discussed agenda of the winter (2010) session, the state of democracy in Europe, results of the Kyiv Forum on future of democracy held in October, the forthcoming presidential elections in Ukraine and presidential and parliament elections in Palestine, the relations between Georgia and Russia, implementation of the Resolution 1416 on the Armenia-Azerbaijan, Nagorno Karabakh conflict offered by the OSCE Minsk Group and other issues.
“The session agenda does not include any question concerning Azerbaijan”, head of the Azerbaijan delegation to PACE Samad Seyidov said. “But, speaking about restoration of activity of the PACE Subcommittee on Nagorno Karabakh, the PACE President Luis Maria de Puig said the talks on peaceful settlement of the conflict have been intensified. PACE President stressed the necessity of activation of the work of the Subcommittee,” AzerTAc correspondent quoted Seyidov as saying.
