Mash’al, Mottaki discuss Middle East, regional affairs
Tehran, Dec 15, IRNA – Foreign Minister Manouchehr Mottaki and visiting head of Political Office of Hamas, Khaled Mash’al met here Monday and discussed latest Palestinian, Middle East developments.
According to IRNA Political Desk reporter, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs’ Information and Media Affairs Office reported Mottaki as saying in the meeting, “The defaming of Israel in Gaza issue is entirely indebted to the brave resistance of the Palestinian nation, led by the Hamas movement.”
He added, “We congratulate the anniversary of establishment of Hamas and the Iranian people, too, joyfully participate at celebration of resistance anniversary along with the people of Gaza and Hamas.”
The Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Islamic Republic of Iran elaborating the arrogant moves of the hegemonic powers and the Zionist regime, reiterated, “The indecent and arrogant moves made by hegemonic powers and the Zionist regime versus the status and prestige of Hamas have thus far been entirely futile, having led to improving the status of Hams among the Palestinians and the Palestinian resistance groups.”
Elaborating Iran’s status on the prevailing peace plans, Mottaki said, “The Zionist regime has ruined the credit of the entire Arabic peace plans regarding the issue of the Palestinian refugees and the borders.”
He asked for unity among the entire Palestinian groups, aimed at supporting the ideals of the Palestinian nation and materializing their rights.
Khaled Mash’al, too, pointing out the need for maintaining permanent consultations with the Iranian officials, said, “Consulting the Iranian brethren has always been fruitful.”
He added, “Relations between Hamas and the Islamic Republic of Iran, The Arabic Republic of Syria, The Republic of Turkey, The Emirate of Qatar, and the Republic of Indonesia and the other Islamic countries has always been a cause for the pride of the other Islamic nations and governments.”
The top Hamas official elaborating the regional developments, said, “The event in occupied Palestine and the approaches adopted by the Zionist regime reveal the fact that the so called peace talks have been fruitless and resistance is the only real and genuine way to go.”
Focusing over Netanyahu’s status, Mash’al said, “He intended to take advantage of the weak position of the Arab world and the European countries, and resort to deceiving tactics in order to stabilize the position of the Zionist townships within the Palestinian territories, where they currently reside.”/end
