Palestine liberation, Imam Khomeini's ideal: Jalili

Tehran, Dec 14, IRNA – Secretary of the Supreme National Security Council (SNSC) Saeed Jalili said on Monday that the liberation of Palestine was an ideal of the Founder of the Islamic Republic, the (late) Imam Khomeini.

He made the remarks in a meeting with head of the Political Bureau of the Palestine Resistance Movement (Hamas) Khalid mashal.

Today, the great nation of Iran are seriously moving in line with the aspiration of the late Imam Khomeini to liberate the Palestinian territories, Jalili added.

Referring to Lebanon’s 33-day war and the 22-day aggression against Gaza, he reiterated that resistance against the occupying regime of Israel is the only effective way to help restore the legitimate rights of the Palestinian nation.

He underlined the need for continued support by all peace-seeking nations for the Palestinians.

For his part, Mashal lauded the Islamic Republic’s support for the oppressed Palestinian nation, stressing that the Iranian people have a significant share in victories of the Palestinian resistance movement.

He added that the resistance movement will be continued till the final victory is achieved./end
