Britain considering release of Iranian national: report

The British government is contemplating the release of a former Iranian diplomat, Nosratollah Tajik, held in the UK allegedly for arms trafficking.

Tehran is demanding the tit-for-tat release in response to its decision to free a group of British yachtsmen who strayed into Iranian waters last month, according to the Sunday issue of the British Daily Mail newspaper.

Tajik, 55, was Iran’s former ambassador to Jordan who was arrested in

2006. He is currently on bail pending an appeal against extradition to the United States.
