AMID REBEL CONFUSION, MILITANT KILLS 6 FELLOWS

SAADA, Dec. 14 (Saba) - Amid fading Houthi strength and the troops
advancing on the insurgents in north, a militant has killed six of
his fellows in a misdirected cannon missile in Saada.

The militant was confused by the troops advancing on the rebels in
many war fronts in Saada and Amran killing, wounding and arresting
rebels.

Meanwhile, the army said many rebels were killed and surrendering in
the last days including field leaders and that the troops continued
to take rebel strongholds, destroy hideouts and cars with weapons
and foil rebel attempts of infiltration.

Among those who gave up were four rebel leaders handing themselves
in to governor of Jawf, northeast Sana'a.

Battlegrounds where fierce fresh confrontations erupted between the
troops and the rebels included Old Saada, Matara, Malaheedh and
Menzala and Gara'eb in Saada and some mountains at the Harf Sufyan
district in neighboring Amran province.
