"DISCOVERY" CENTER FOR CHILDREN OPENS
Ulaanbaatar, /MONTSAME/ The Khan Bank Foundation which was established with an aim to carry out the bank's mission of changing people's lives and benefiting society, has been supporting various projects that foster positive improvements in society.
The latest of the foundation's special mission has reached eastern Mongolia, where Children's Department of Dornod aimag welcomed a new learning center called “Discovery” thanks to the collaboration of the bank Foundation with the Asia Foundation. It was reported Monday by the bank's website.
The center offers a variety of extracurricular activities and self-study materials for children. The Khan Bank provided equipment and furniture of MNT 6.5 million, while Asia Foundation donated 5,000 books of different topics for the center. The new center is well received by children and youth of Dornod aimag as it offers convenient learning environment.
Projects have been financed by the Khan Bank in the educational sphere, including the "Khan Bank Scholarship Program" which supports well-performing students who have limited financial resources to pursue higher education; the "Voice Box" weekly English language program on Mongolia's National Public Radio and Television; the "Fun English" project implemented in Khentii aimag in 2009; the National English speaking contest; the "Young Leadership Program" organized by the Zorig Foundation; and the "American-Mongolian School Pairing" project.
