He is credited with the establishment of stability, peace and progress on Azerbaijani land as one of the important tasks”.
“During the period of his leadership, Heydar Aliyev played a crucial role in Azerbaijan`s socio-economic development. Due to his efforts, Azerbaijan turned into one of the prosperous republics of the Soviet Union.”
In the article, the ambassador says “Heydar Aliyev`s visionary leadership saved Azerbaijan from the uncertainties and hardships of the early 1990s into a prosperous future. Within a short period of time, Heydar Aliyev strengthened state institutions, expanded much needed foreign relations, realized comprehensive energy strategy and laid the ground for the country`s long-term sustainable development. A new chapter has begun in the life of the independent Republic of Azerbaijan”.
“Radical changes took place in the country`s foreign policy. At first, Azerbaijan secured its place in the system of international relations and based on the new foreign policy strategy started to pursue its Euro-Atlantic integration aspirations and to enhance its bilateral relations with the US, EU countries, Turkic speaking and CIS states, Asia, Africa, and South America. Particular attention has been attached to rebuild the historical ties of Azerbaijan with the Arab-Muslim world”.
According to the article, “In the early 90s, very few believed in Azerbaijan`s survival as a sovereign state, due to Armenian aggression and internal political-economic instabilities. However, Azerbaijan with its success story has overcome all skepticism and has proved that its independence and successful development is ‘Eternal and Irreversible’ in the words of Heydar Aliyev, the National Leader of Azerbaijan”.
