Iranian boxer wins bronze in AIBA President’s Cup
BAKU, Dec. 11 (MNA) -- Iranian Ali Mazaheri finished in third place after being beaten by Julio Cesar of Ecuador in AIBA President’s Cup on Friday.
The Asian team’s 91kg category boxer was defeated 7-3 against Julio Cesar in Baku’s Serhedchi Olympic Sport Complex.
The tournament began on December 6 and finishes on December 13.
A total of eight teams are participating with confederations selecting boxers for each of their teams - Americas(2), Asia(2), Europe(2), Africa(1) and Oceania(1)
The confederation winning the contest will be awarded $50,000. Moreover, the winners in 11 weight categories will get $3,000 each.
