CARRIED FREIGHT AND PASSENGERS DOWN
Ulaanbaatar, /MONTSAME/ As of the first 11 months of 2009, 12,782.2 thous.ton freight and 2,860.7 thous.passenger (duplicated) were carried by railway transport. Compared with the same period of the previous year, carried freight fell by 5.4 per cent or 731.3 thous.ton, and carried passengers by 30.1 per cent or 1,230.5 thous.persons.
Due to decrease in domestic passengers by 1,170.7 thous.persons or 29.9 per cent compared with the same period of the previous year, the carried passengers by railway were decreased.
As of the first 11 months of 2009, 1,217.3 thous.ton freight and 286.7 thous.passenger (duplicated) were carried by air transport. Compared with the same period of the previous year, carried freight fell by 29.5 per cent or 509.1 thous.ton, and carried passengers by 16.8 per cent or 57.9 thous.persons.
