INDUSTRIAL OUTPUT DECREASES

Ulaanbaatar, /MONTSAME/ As of the first 11 months of 2009, the total industrial output reached 1,496.5 bln.togrogs demonstrating a decrease of 7.3 per cent or by 117.8 bln.togrogs (at 2005 constant prices), compared with the same period of pervious year.
The fall in the industrial output was due to a decrease of 8.9 bln.togrogs or 1.0 per cent in mining and quarrying sector output, and 110.8 bln.togrogs or 20.4 per cent in manufacturing sector output.
Compared with the same period of the previous year, the output of the mining and quarrying sector decreased mainly due to the 5.9-70.8 per cent reduction in output of main mining products such as zincum concentrate, fluor spar concentrate, iron ore, gold and tangsten concentrate.
At the same time, 20.4 per cent decrease in output of manufacturing sector was mainly due to the 2.1-92.1 per cent reduction in output of products such as bakery products, copper, sausage, breads, combed down, cigarettes, lime, carpet, metal steel, spirit, metal foundries, concentrate mortar, solid concentrate, articles of iron concrete and molybdenum concentrate.
As of the first 11 months of 2009, construction and installation work of 175.2 bln.togrogs were carried out. Of them, 151.9 bln.togrogs or 86.7 percent were executed by domestic entities, and 23.3 bln.togrogs or 13.3 per cent by foreign entities.
