CONSUMER PRICE INDEX AND STOCK MARKET IN STATISTICS

Ulaanbaatar, /MONTSAME/ The national consumer price index (NCPI) in November 2009 increased by 1.6 per cent and by 3.5 per cent against the previous month and the end of previous year, respectively.
All price groups except food and non-alcoholic beverages increased by 0.3-20.0 per cent which resulted in the 3.5 per cent increase in the overall index compared to the previous month.
In November of 2009, there were 20 trading days and 5.1 million shares valued at MNT 23.2 billion were traded. The number of shares traded decreased by 19.5 million stocks or 6.2 times against October 2009, by 17.1 million stocks or 3.8 times against November 2008, respectively. The value of traded stocks increased MNT 1.8 billion or 1.5 times against October 2009, and by MNT 3.9 billion or 4.3 times compared to November 2008, respectively.
