Ulaanbaatar, /MONTSAME/ The Institute of Meteorology and Hydrology (IMH) reveals that maximum precipitation was (22.1 mm) in Bulgan soum of Khovd aimag. Absolute high air temperature reached 20.7°C in Zereg soum, Khovd aimag, whereas absolute low air temperature was -42.0°C in Otgon soum of Zavkhan aimag.
Highest cover of snow was 40 cm in Jargalant soum, Khovsgol aimag. Maximum wind speed reached 40 m/sec in Tonhil soum, Gobi-Altai aimag in November, 2009.
Concentration of sulphur dioxide exceeded from the maximum allowable concentration of air quality standard by 24 times around the Khan-Uul district, 19 times around the 1st micro district, 26 times around the 13th micro district, 20 times around the 32nd circle and 20 times around the Palace of Military Officers (PMO); nitrogen dioxide exceeded 9 times around the west crossroad, 7 times around the 1st micro district, 18 times around the 13th micro district, 9 times around the 32nd Toirog and 9 times around the PMO; particulate matter less than ten micrograms exceeded 9 times around the Khan-uul district, 8 times around the west crossroad, 9 times around the 1st micro district, 7 times around the 13th micro district in Ulaanbaatar. Particulate matter less than ten micrograms exceeded 5 times in Darkhan soum of Darkhan-Uul aimag in November, 2009.
The National Emergency and Management Agency reveals that there were 2,190 disasters in the first 11 months of 2009. Damage of disasters amount was MNT 8.5 billion. Because of the disasters, 235 people died, 696 dwellings have been burnt in fire and 329.0 thousand livestock had been lost.
By the types of disasters, forest fires took place 118 times, object fires--1,865 times, strong storms--14 times, anthrax--18 times.
