HOUSEHOLD INCOME AND UNEMPLOYMENT RATE
Ulaanbaatar, /MONTSAME/ As results of the Household Socio-Economic Survey, monthly average household monetary income was MNT 342.4 thousand as 3rd quarter of 2009 and increased by MNT 0.8 thousand or 0.2 per cent compared to the same period of the previous year.
As a 3rd quarter of 2009, monthly household monetary expenditure was MNT 377.6 thousand showing an increase by MNT 3.6 thousand or 1.0 per cent against of the previous year.
According to a report of the Labour Force Survey (LFS) of a 3rd quarter of 2009, as a weighted estimation by survey results, total number of economically active population aged 15 and above is 1,137.1 thousand. Of them, 584.4 thousand or 51.4 per cent are males and 552.7 thousand or 48.6 per cent are females.
Economically active population, 1081.1 thousand or 89.5 per cent are employees and 119.0 thousand or 10.5 per cent are unemployed.
As results of LFS, for 3rd quarter of 2009, the number of unemployed was 119.0 thousand out of them, a number of unemployed who had registered at Labour and Welfare Service Divisions in aimags and the capital city and were actively looking for job, reached 39.8 thousand at the end of November 2009. It shows an increase of 10,683 or 36.7 per cent against the previous year.
Such increase of registered unemployed was mainly due to increase of unemployed who had registered in some aimags, namely Sukhbaatar (332 people), Khovd (381 people), Khovsgol (413 people), Darkhan-uul (476 people), Ovorkhangai (495 people), Tov (617 people), Bayankhongor (784 people), Uvs (1,021 people), Bulgan (2,265 people) and Ulaanbaatar city (2,504 people), respectively.
