LIVE BIRTHS INCREASE
Ulaanbaatar, /MONTSAME/ As of the first 11 months of 2009, the number of live births reached 63,138 increasing 5,177 or 8.9 per cent against the same period of 2008 at national level.
The number of mothers delivered children was 63,353 increasing 5,230 or 9.0 per cent against the previous year. The number of infant mortality reached 1,247 increasing 127 infants, the number of maternal deaths stood at 51 increasing by 22, while the number of under-five mortality fell down to 211 decreasing 11 children against the previous year.
