MONGOLIA AND RUSSIA BOOST COOPERATION

Ulaanbaatar, /MONTSAME/ A Chairman of the Federation Council Sergei Mironov met the Chairman of the State Great Hural of Mongolia Damdin Demberel on December 9.
The dignitaries discussed some issues of mutual interest. They noted that the relationship between Russia and Mongolia is positively and dynamically developing in all sectors, especially in agricultural, veterinary, mining and financial spheres.
Demberel stated that his country is interested in effective and mutually beneficial economic cooperation with Russia.
"Mongolia pays much attention to exporting meat and meat products. Thanks to effective beneficial co-operation between related authorities of Mongolia and Russia, Mongolia exported some animals to Buryat Republic this year. This is the start of comprehensive ranged works of future cooperation," he stated.
"Our two countries agreed to collaborate in uranium sector and signed documents to set up a joint plant. We are interested in collaborating in this sphere, particularly in collecting information and materials of researches that were carried out in territory of Mongolia on uranium prospects and determination of its reserve," Demberel said.
He highlighted the importance of Russia's participation in exploiting the largest mineral resources deposits, promoting its infrastructure and putting down new rail tracks.
Mr Demberel said Mongolia supports Russia's proposal to organize a regular meeting of the Business Council Shanghai Cooperation Organization in Ulaanbaatar.
The Chairman of the Federation Council noted that there are good contacts between Russian and Mongolian parliamentarians, and said these contacts could be further developed and strengthened.
