PREMIER MEETS N.P.PATRUSHEV
Ulaanbaatar, /MONTSAME/ The Prime Minister S.Batbold received Wednesday Nikolai Platonovich Patrushev, the Secretary of the Security Council of the Russian Federation (RF).
The Premier expressed a confidence that Mr Patrushev's visit will significantly contribute to forwarding the Mongolia-Russia relations and cooperation. The Premier conveyed deep condolences over deaths of many people due to a terrorist attack in the train and a fire at the nightclub.
Mr Batbold underlined that the visits paid in 2009 to Mongolia by Russia's President, the Prime Minister and the Chairman of the Federal Council of the Federal Assembly have greatly contributed to the bilateral strategic partnership. Mr Batbold pointed out that Mongolia is performing works in sectors of nuclear energy, agriculture and farming aiming to co-implement with Russia biggest projects in trade and economy.
The Premier said Mongolia has a willingness to have a gas pipe run through Mongolia's territory and expressed his hope that the Russian side will pay an attention to this issue. He emphasized key roles of the "Erdenet" mining corporation, the "Mongolrostsvetmet" joint venture and the "Ulaanbaatar Railway" joint stock company in the trade and economic collaboration.
Mr Batbold spoke about Mongolian side's willingness to widen the bilateral ties and collaboration in education, cultural and scientific sectors, and thanked the Russian side for increasing a number of Mongolian students to study in Russia with scholarships of Russia's government.
In turn, Mr Patrushev said the mutual high level visits have been contributing to the relations and cooperation, and expressed his satisfaction with the ties between the two countries' National Security Councils.
"Celebration of the 70th anniversary of the Victory in the Khalkh River Battle has a great importance. The 65th anniversary of the Victory in the Great Patriotic War will be marked in 2010," said Mr Patrushev, and invited Mongolia to participate in the anniversary measures. He added that Russia has a willingness to deepen the relations and cooperation with Mongolia in all spheres.
