King's Keenness Gives Strong Impetus to Health Sector's Progressive March: Dr.Al-Rabiah
Riyadh, December 09, 2009, SPA -- Minister of Health Dr. Abdullah bin Abdulaziz Al-Rabiah stressed that the keenness of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques, King Abdullah bin Abdulaziz Al Saud on providing high-level health services to citizens, has given a moral and strong impetus to the progressive march of the health sector
in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.
In a speech on the occasion of the 10th anniversary of the establishment of Medical
Specialist Center Hospital here on Tuesday evening, the Minister pointed out that
the private health sector has been the main partner of the Ministry of Health in
providing health services to citizens and residents, noting that this sector
contributes to 20 per cent of the total services provided by various health sectors
in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.
He pointed out that there are 123 private hospitals with 11, 362 beds; 1, 871
private dispensaries and combined clinics; and 217 private clinics; 171 clinics
belonging to companies; and 5, 741 private pharmacies.
The ceremony was attended by ambassadors of Qatar, the United Arab Emirates,
Lebanon and Palestine to the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, Ali Al Mahmoud, Al-Asri
Al-Dhahri, Marwan Zain, and Jamal Al-Shobaki, respectively.
