Iran minister in Syria for defense talks
Damascus, Dec 9, IRNA – Iran’s Minister of Defense and Armed Forces Logistics, Brigadier General Ahmad Vahidi, arrived in the capital city of Damascus Tuesday evening to confer on defense cooperation with Syrian officials.
Brigadier General Vahidi was welcomed by his Syrian counterpart Ali Habib at the airport.
Vahidi’s three-day visit to Damascus aims at holding talks on promotion of defense cooperation between the two countries.
He is also planned to discuss with Syrian officials about international and regional developments as well as ways to widen bilateral cooperation.
The Iranian defense minister believes that the world and regional situations make the Islamic countries strive for bringing peace and tranquility to the region.
He says Iran is ready to boost its cooperation with the regional states within the framework of its defense policies./end
