Mottaki: Iran-UAE trade volume high at USD15bn

Tehran, Dec 8, IRNA – Foreign Minister Manouchehr Mottaki said here Tuesday that the extensive presence of Iranians in the UAE has given impetus to bilateral political, economic and cultural ties as is evidenced by value of mutual transactions, soaring to over USD15b.

Mottaki told the first Iran-UAE Joint Economic Cooperation Commission session that strong links between Iranian and the UAE nations have ensured trade ties between the two neighbors being well above the level of trade with other states of the region.

In the meeting, in which the UAE Foreign Ministers, Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed Al Nahyan, was also present, Mottaki said there are still many capacities for expansion of mutual ties and the two sides can step up the relations by holding sessions./end
