TEHRAN, Dec. 8 (MNA) -- Iranian film “No One Knows about Persian Cats” won three awards at the 13th Tallinn Black Nights Film Festival, which was held in Estonia from November 27 to December 6.

The film received the jury prize for cinematographically capturing underground contemporary life in Iran.

Directed by Bahman Qobadi, “Persian Cats” is about the underground music groups in Tehran and the situation of young musicians in Iran.

The organizers also gave the film the FICC (International Federation of Film Societies) Jury Award and the NETPAC (Network for the Promotion of Asian Cinema) Jury Award.

The closing ceremony of the Tallinn Black Nights Film Festival was held on December 4.

“Persian Cats” has received several other accolades at international events.

The film shared Cannes’ special prize in the Un Certain Regard category with “Father of My Children” from France in May 2009.

It has also won the special jury prize at the 10th Tokyo Filmex in late November.
