Iran-Turkey keen to expand ties

Orumiyeh, West Azarbaijan Prov., Dec 8, IRNA – The Iranian and Turkish governments are keen to expand their ties in all arenas, the West Azarbaijan governor said on Tuesday.
Vahid Jalali made the remarks at the Iran-Turkey Joint Economic, Trade, Scientific and Cultural Meeting of the Border Provinces in Van, Turkey.
He termed the meeting as an introduction to the expansion of bilateral relations between the two countries' border provinces.
The Iranian official said such a meeting could play a vital role in removing the problems hindering the expansion of mutual ties.
Jalali said Iran-Turkey ties have increased five folds in the past ten years, adding that Turkish investors have made over one billion dollar investments in Iran of which dlrs 200 million have been implemented.
Jalali also invited Turkish educational, cultural, trade and economic activists to visit West Azarbaijan province's capabilities and potentials in the near future./end
