AZERBAIJANI DEPUTY FM VISITS INDIA

Baku, December 8 (AzerTAc). Deputy Foreign Minister of Azerbaijan Vagif Sadigov visited India on December 2-4 to attend a conference “Azerbaijan-India cooperation” prospects and challenges” co-hosted by the Azerbaijani embassy and India`s Council on Foreign Relations to mark the 90th anniversary of Azerbaijani diplomatic service
Researchers, officials and diplomats gave presentations on India-Azerbaijan historical ties, India-Azerbaijan cooperation in the energy sector and other issues.
During the conference, Sadigov told of Azerbaijan foreign policy`s priorities, country`s activity in the international organizations as well as history and peace talks on the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict.
While in India, Sadigov met with Indian Deputy FM Parbati Sen Vyas to discuss current state of bilateral relations, effective use of existing potential of cooperation.
Discussions between Azerbaijani Deputy FM and secretary of the Indian Parliament Sri Achari revolved around interparliamentary ties and prospects for bilateral relations.
Deputy Minister Sadigov also met with Indian Deputy Petroleum and Natural Gas Minister Pandey, Deputy Minister of Culture Sircar, Deputy Tourism Minister Banerjee, Secretary of the Information Technologies Ministry Singh, Secretary of the Telecommunication Department Thomas.
The focus of discussions was the current state of relations in respective fields.
Azerbaijan`s ambassador to India Tamerlan Garayev was present in all meetings.
