PREMIER RECEIVES ENVIRONMENT OFFICIALS
Ulaanbaatar,/MONTSAME/ On Monday, the Prime Minister S.Batbold met some officials of environment and tourism sectors and gave a report to them under a theme "Environment safety-our future".
The Premier's report told about present situation of environment sector, urgent problems, ways to solve problems and difficulties and further measures. The Prime Minister mentioned that Mongolia has been ranked at 100th by the Environment Indicator issued by the University of Yale in 2008, and said Mongolia is being in bad situation for the environment.
"It is time to change the tradition of eliminating losses after disasters with a big amount of money," Batbold said, and added many negative activities are getting worse due to bad situation of liability system.
S.Batbold ordered the Ministers of Environment and Tourism; Mineral Resources and Energy; and Road, Transportation, Construction and Urban Development, to give reports to the government on measures and plans realized to reduce air pollution in Ulaanbaatar city. In addition, he ordered the Ministry of Environment and Tourism to work out an economic justification for new complexes to be constructed in six tourism regions with domestic and foreign investments.
