Fletcher has Liberals lead in Bradfield

Liberal candidate Paul Fletcher has taken an early lead in the by-election for the
federal seat of Bradfield, in Sydney's north.
At 7.30pm (AEDT), Mr Fletcher had gained 3,093 votes, or 57 per cent of the primary
vote, with just over six per cent of the vote counted.
His nearest challenger is The Greens candidate Susie Gemmell, who has collected
1,504 votes, or 25.8 per cent of the primary vote.
At this early stage, there is a 14.5 per cent swing to the Greens and a two per cent
swing against the Liberals, though these figures are distorted by the ALP not
standing a candidate.
Bradfield became vacant after the resignation of former Liberal Party leader Brendan
Nelson.
