Airport SEA to be set up in Ulyanovsk region--Mironov.
ULYANOVSK, June 3 (Itar-Tass) - An airport Special Economic Area (SEA)will be established in Ulyanovsk Region, Sergei Mironov, Speaker of the Federation Council upper house of the Russian parliament, told journalists upon arriving here on Tuesday.
Mironov said a decision to establish SEA had been adopted in theMinistry of Economic Development as a result of the session of the tender commission.
Those present at the session had approved the establishment of two airport SEA's in Ulyanovsk and Krasnoyarsk, as well as one economicarea at a seaport in Khabarovsk Territory.
The SEA in Ulyanovsk Region will be established on the basis of the Ulyanovsk-Vostochny (east) airport capable of receiving air vehicles of all classes.
"The establishment of the SEA will give fresh impetus to the economic development of the region," Mironov pointed out.
Along with bringing about an increase in the airport's cargo turnover, the establishment of the SEA is expected to promote the development of the potential of the aircraft-repairing complex of local enterprises.
Later in the day Mironov is to visit the 31st Separate Assault Landing Brigade and tour the Aviastar-SP aircraft factory where he will attend a ceremony marking the handover of a new airliner, the TU-204-100V -- to the customer -- the "Airlines 400" company, which has placed an order with the factory for another six such airliners.
The TU-204-100V is a new modification, certified according to the latest version of aviation rules with additional flight-safetyrequirements. In particular, the airliner's pilot navigation system has been fully refurbished while the cabin configuration provided for maximum passenger seating capacity.
