Vienna, Dec 2, IRNA – Iran's Ambassador to the IAEA, Ali Asghar Soltanieh, stressed that the international community should respond appropriately to Israel's crimes against the Palestinians.
Soltanieh, Iran’s permanent representative to International Atomic Energy Agency(IAEA), made the remark in a ceremony to declare solidarity with the Palestinians here on Tuesday.
By firmly declaring solidarity with the Palestinians, Soltanieh called for an appropriate response of the international community to the barbaric acts of the Zionist regime, 'which are contrary to international laws."
Occupation of Palestinian territories is the main cause for conflicts in the Middle East, especially Palestine, he pointed out.
Palestinian immigrants who have been expelled from their homes should be returned and in a democratic mechanism determine their own fate with other Palestinians either Christians, Muslims or Jews, Soltanieh underlined.
The UN secretary-general's message was read out in the gathering and representatives from Non-Aligned Movement countries, the Organization of Islamic Conference and the Arab League delivered speeches./end
