Tehran, Dec 2, IRNA – President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad said that Iran's nuclear issue, in our opinion, is over and we do not have a nuclear issue to negotiate with others.
President Ahmadinejad made the remark in a an interview with the Iranian TV Tuesday night, while referring to the west’s stances towards the country's nuclear program and IAEA’s recent resolution against Tehran.
”We were interested, from the beginning, to solve all the problems related to the nuclear issue. Now, the issue, in our opinion, is over. No matter how much hue and cry they make,” stressed the president.
”We act according to laws. We want our rights and nothing more. We have answered all their legal questions, but we have ignored their hustle and bustle.
“Whenever they have adopted something illegal, we have officially announced that we do not recognize it,” he added.
“We are sure that England was against the Geneva negotiations which were on the right course for mutual understanding. The Zionist regime was also strongly against the understanding.
“Some other countries, in my opinion, were deceived. Russia made a mistake. Russia does not have a careful analysis of today's world situation,” Ahmadinejad pointed out.
The president said independent countries should set up new mechanisms outside the world old order and cited the establishment of a bank by Iran and Venezuela and said other countries are trying to join this bank.
He also emphasized the importance of the Non-Aligned Movement and said Iran will assume presidency of the Movement in two and a half years and will continue efforts made by countries like Malaysia, Cuba, and Egypt to strengthen NAM./end
