Tehran, Dec 2, IRNA – President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad said that no one can isolate Iran because global relations and Iran’s unique characteristics in the Middle East will not let it happen.
Speaking in an interview with Iranian TV on Tuesday night, President Ahmadinejad said, “In an era when all are seeking globalization, speaking about isolating a country is either because of the speakers’ ignorance or their arrogance.”
“Global relations won’t let it happen about Iran and such a thing is impossible,” the president added.
He expounded on the ‘unique characteristics’ of Iran and especially its geographical position and said Middle East is the most important region in the world because of its economic, geographical, cultural, and historical conditions. It is also the cradle of faiths, center of energy and a crossroad for the continents.
“Any country which wants to have a decisive role in the global relations, should first have an effective presence in the Middle East,”
“ In such an important region, Iran’s position in human resources, scientific abilities, political and economic potentials, and geographical position is not deniable.”
“Iran has always been a decisive element in the political relations of the Middle East and the world and any country which wants to have a global role, should come to the Middle East and so needs Iran,” the president said.
Referring to the presence of Iran in Africa and Latin America in addition to the Middle East, President Ahmadinejad said speaking about isolation of Iran comes from the arrogance of the hegemonic powers and belongs to the past.
“Iran and many other countries do not accept the system of dominance in the world. The literature and the influence of the hegemonic powers are on the brink of collapse. They have power but lack common sense and cannot do anything,” the president said.
“Their speaking of Iran’s isolation is in our favor. We tell the nations that the behavior of hegemonic countries is out of their arrogance and nations accept our stance and we do not sustain loss,” the president said.
“ Hegemonic powers are not more that five or six countries, but they expect all the world to obey them. This has been fading away after the Islamic Revolution and especially in the past few years,” the president said. /end
