Iran examining British sailors case: spokesman
Tehran, Dec 1, IRNA – Iran is examining the case of the reported arrest of five British sailors who are said to be recently detained by Iranian forces for illegal entry into the Iranian waters, Foreign Ministry spokesman Ramin Mihman-Parast said on Tuesday.
“Tehran is examining the accuracy of the report as well as its details and will comment on the issue immediately after being ensured that it has truly happened,” the spokesman told domestic and foreign reporters at his weekly press conference.
The British Foreign Office has claimed that five sailors of the country have recently been arrested by Iran for unwanted illegal entry into Iran's Persian Gulf waters.
The British Foreign Office added that the sailors had mistakenly entered the Iranian territorial waters.
Asked if Russia and China’s “Yes” votes to the latest resolution of the International Atomic Energy Agency’s Board of Governors against Iran would affect Tehran’s relations with Moscow and Beijing, Mihman-Parast said, “It would not cause any change in our relations but we would express our serious complains about their moves.”
