Mottaki: Iran’s presence in Latin America shows Zionists' defeat
Tehran, Dec 1, IRNA – Foreign Minister Manouchehr Mottaki said that Iran's presence in Latin America means a serious defeat for the Zionists’ foreign diplomacy.
Speaking to IRNA on Tuesday, Mottaki referred to President Ahmadinejad's first visit to Brazil, on his recent tour to three South American countries, as a ground for future extensive relations with them.
He stressed that the government has always paid due attention to strengthening bonds with Latin American and African countries.
During Ahmadinejad's trip to Brazil, the first ever high level visit during past 18 years, several cooperation documents were signed by the presidents of both states, including agreements on facilities for bilateral visits and partly elimination of entry visas, Mottaki added.
Iran-Brazil ties have entered a new phase which will be completed through signing of a letter of understanding about the general terms of mutual agreements during the future visit of the Brazilian president to Tehran, Mottaki said.
Pointing out to the balanced approach of the country's foreign policy regarding Latin America during past four years, he singled out the presence of Iranian companies in various fields in this part of the world.
Iran pursues an active policy in strengthening bonds with Latin American countries despite Zionists’ pressures and psychological war against Tehran, he added.
Mottaki remarked that the Argentine president’s support for Tehran's nuclear rights following years-long crisis about the fallacious case of AMIA signifies the victory of Iran's diplomacy against the Zionists.
He also predicted a significant development in the country's diplomacy towards the Latin America./end
