Salehi: Iran does not intend leaving NPT
Bushehr, Dec 1, IRNA – Head of the Atomic Energy Organization Ali Akbar Salehi said here Monday that Iran does not intend to leave the nuclear Non-Proliferation Treaty (NPT).
According to IRNA, foreign dispatches further quoted Salehi as saying, “The Supreme Leader of the Islamic Revolution says trying to achieve the capability to manufacture the nuclear weapons is a great sin.”
Salehi emphasized, “If we intended to manufacture nuclear weapons we would have left the NPT years ago.”
He added, “We do not intend to leave the NPT.”/end
