Iran-Senegal issue communiqué to bolster cooperation

Tehran, Nov 28, IRNA – Iran and Senegal have voiced readiness to continue consultations and promote mutual cooperation.

In a joint communiqué, issued at the end of President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad’s Senegal visit on Thursday, the two sides agreed to make necessary arrangements for convention of the Fourth Tehran-Dakar Economic Cooperation Commission session in Iran in February 2010.

Highlighting significance of peace and stability for progress and development, the statement thanked regional and international organizations for their efforts to guarantee peace in four corners of the world.

The document also stresses further activation of the Organization of the Islamic Conference in order to settle Muslim world problems.

President Ahmadinejad invited his Senegalese counterpart Abdoulaye Wade to pay an official visit to Tehran, which was welcomed by the latter. The date of the visit will be decided later through diplomatic channels./end
