AZERI INTERNAL AFFAIRS MINISTER MEETS MEMBERS OF COE COUNCIL OF MINISTERS` MONITORING GROUP

Baku, 25 November (AzerTAc). Azerbaijani minister of internal affairs Ramil Usubov has met members of AGO monitoring group of the Council of Europe`s Council of Ministers.
Usubov spoke of “large-scale” social, economic and democratic reforms in the country. He said the ministry had been making every effort to bring the country`s police system to modern standards.
“We sent over 1000 policemen abroad, including USA, Germany, Austria and France for various trainings and workshops.”
Chairman of the monitoring group Stelian Stoian praised the Azerbaijani government`s reforms. Stoian expressed assurance law-enforcement bodies in Azerbaijan would continue “to take an active part” in democratic processes supported by the Council of Europe.
