BP BOLSTERS SCIENCE AND EDUCATION IN AZERBAIJAN
Baku, November 24 (AzerTAc). BP Azerbaijan has been operating Azerbaijani Oil & Gas Graduate Studies Scholarship Program, Oil and Gas Undergraduate Scholarship Program in Azerbaijan.
The graduate program provides scholarships for qualified Azerbaijani citizens for Master Studies in Geology, Geophysics, Petroleum and Reservoir Engineering at Middle East Technical University (METU),Turkey.
The undergraduate program provides scholarships for qualified Azerbaijani citizens for four year of Bachelor degree Studies in Petroleum, Mechanical, Chemical, Geological, Mining, Civil, Electrical & Electronic Engineering at Middle East Technical, Istanbul Technical, and Bosporus Universities in Turkey.
The program has been operated by BP on behalf of its co-venturers since 2003 and as part of it about 50 Azerbaijanis have been sent to oil and gas undergraduate studies at reputable international universities to date.
The establishment of the Basin Modeling Centre in the Geological Institute is certainly another Bp-funded capability building project for training and developing Azerbaijan’s own competence in country.
