Iran berates UAE for unfounded claims over Persian Gulf Islands
Tehran, Nov 24, IRNA -- Foreign Ministry spokesman Ramin Mihmanparast on Monday berated the United Arab Emirates for its unfounded claims over the three Iranian islands in the Persian Gulf.
The Emir of the United Arab Emirates (UAE) had made the claim in a message at the inauguration of the new Emirates parliament.
Elaborating on the issue, Mihmanparast added that the Greater and Lesser Tunbs and Abu Musa, the three islands, have been integral parts of Iran in the course of history.
In fact, Iran has on several occasions voiced readiness to hold talks in this respect to remove misunderstandings about Abu Musa, he noted, underlining Tehran’s principled stance is consistent with the islands./end
