Kabul, Nov 19, IRNA – The first Vice-President of Iran, Mohmmad-Reza Rahimi, arrived here Thursday morning to attend the inauguration ceremony of re-elected President Hamid Karzai.

Rahimi, who arrived at the head of a high-ranking political delegation, was welcomed at the airport by Afghanistan’s Minister of Economy Mohammad Jalil Shams as well as Iran’s Ambassador to Kabul Fada Hossein Maleki.

On the sidelines of Karzai’s swearing-in ceremony, Rahimi is to hold separate talks with the Afghan president and other senior officials, as well as those of other countries who are also participating in the event.
