Mottaki arrives in Manila

Tehran, Nov 18, IRNA – Iranian Foreign Minister Manoucher Mottaki arrived in Manila, the Philippines, on Wednesday.

Iran's Ambassador to Manila Ali-Mojtaba Rouzbahani said that Mottaki was warmly welcomed by top Filipino officials upon his arrival in the city.

Rouzbahani said that Mottaki is to hold talks with President Gloria Macapagal Arroyo as well as his counterpart Alberto G. Romulo, during his 2-day visit.

A review of various avenues for boosting mutual ties is the main objective of Mottaki’s visit to the Philippines, the envoy said.

Currently, Tehran-Manila trade transaction stands at dlrs 370m, which is rather low, Rouzbahani regretted.

Great potentials exist in both countries for expansion of bilateral economic cooperation, he said./end
