SANA'A, Nov.17
(Saba) - Yemen and Kuwait Fund for Arab Economic Development (KAFED) singed here on
Tuesday
an agreement by which the KAFED presents $41 million for financing Socotra
commercial port project.
The agreement, signed by Minister of Planning and International Cooperation Abdul
Karim al-Arhabi and Head of KAFED mission Tariq al-Menisi, comes within Kuwait
fulfillment
of its commitments to Yemen during the London conference of donors held in November
2006.
After signing the agreement, al-Arhabi praised the growing development in the
bilateral cooperation relations between Yemen and Kuwait.
He indicated that the port completion will contribute to supporting the
socioeconomic development through covering demands of safe maritime transport for
goods and passengers
between Socotra archipelago and Yemeni and international ports.
For his part, al-Menisi affirmed the fund's keenness on continuing its support to
enhance the development process in Yemen, noting the historical brotherly relations
that
link the two peoples of Yemen and Kuwait.
