ElBaradei confirms Iran’s honesty based on IAEA inspections
IAEA Sec Gen Muhamed ElBaradei here Monday in his last report on Iran’s nuclear program stressed results of agency’s inspections on Natanz Factories match Iran’s declarations.
According to IRNA, ElBaradei’s last report that was distributed among the 35 members of the IAEA Board of Governors on Monday evening is inclusive of positive points regarding the peaceful nature of Iran’s nuclear activities, some of which are as follows:
1. Entire nuclear substances existing at Natanz Factory (including the injected substances, products, and waste material) in addition to the chain of installed centrifuges, injection stations, and exits of substances, are fully under the inspection and supervision of the IAEA inspectors. (Paragraph 3)
2. The next inspection date for physical verifying of substances in Natanz is set from the 22nd to the 30th of November, agreed between Tehran and the agency. (Paragraph 4)
3. Nuclear substances at Natanz Semi-Industrial Factory, in addition to the regions of the centrifuge chains, injection stations, and exits of the system are under the supervision and control of the IAEA inspectors and the agency’s cameras. (Paragraph 5)
4. The agency has launched its physical verification tests at Natanz Semi-Industrial Factory from the 14th to the 16th of September 2009 and is surveying the gained results currently (Paragraph 5)
5. The agency has taken samples of both of the semi-industrial factories of Natanz and noticed that the test results match Iran’s relative declarations. (Paragraph 6)
6. The agency has had two undeclared inspections between the previous and the recent declared inspections. The Agency has altogether had 31 undeclared inspections ever since March 2007 of Iran’s entire nuclear facilities. (Paragraph 6)
7. Iran informed the IAEA on September 21st 2009 that it is constructing a new nuclear site in Qom. (Paragraph 7)
8. The agency requested Iran to present design information regarding Iran’s new nuclear site and Iran agreed to do so and presented the requested information in reasonable time. (Paragraph 8)
9. The agency launched verification tests on November 26th and 27th at Fordo Site (Paragraph 9)
10. The agency inspectors had two meeting in Tehran with Iranian officials regarding Fordo Site, in which the history of that site was surveyed. (Paragraph 9)
11. Iran provided access to entire parts of Fordo site for the IAEA inspectors to view the entire details of the Fordo Site.
12. The agency took photographs and samples of the Fordo Site environment. (Paragraph 10)
13. The agency confirms that the information on the plan of Fordo Site presented by Iran fully watched the IAEA inspectors personal observations. (Paragraph 10)
14. Bases on an agreement reached with Iran the date for next IAEA inspection was set. (Paragraph 11)
