A series of programmes to improve the living standards of ethnic people in their localities

Hanoi (VNA) – The northern province of Lang Son and the Central Highlands province
of Dak Lak have implemented a series of programmes to improve the living standards
of ethnic people in their localities.

Lang Son province has injected over 8.1 billion VND into a price-subsidy
programme, helping ethnic people escape poverty and enhancing the quality of life.

Commodities under its price-subsidy programme included plant varieties,
fertiliser, kerosene and iodine salt.

Since 2005, Dak Lak province has spent more than one trillion VND on
socio-economic development and about 230 million VND on providing residential and
farming lands as well as housing and clean water for ethnic people.

A total of 355 billion VND has also been used to help 74 percent of ethnic
minority families of the province have access to the national power grid.-Enditem.
