HEC discusses issues of oil exploration and fisheries wealth

SANA'A, Nov. 14 (Saba)-
Higher Economic Council (HEC) held its meeting on Saturday headed by Prime Minister
Ali
Mujawar over current operations of oil exploration in several blocks and fisheries
wealth.
The council approved a memorandum presented by oil minister over a request of Gallo
Oil to extend its agreement of first stage of exploration in block No.13, Shabwa
province
for 24 months.
The council also agreed on a memo of the minister related to a request of DNO to
extend agreement of the second phase of exploration in block No.52 of Saah region
in Hadramout
province for nine months.
Moreover, the higher council referred a report presented by minister of fisheries
wealth over a study to set up fisheries information centers to the cabinet for
further
discussion in order to take required decisions.
The minister made it clear in his report that the objective of centers is to
create a database for the fisheries sector in the country, which would help to
develop and
serve investment in the key sector.
