Fevola still loves the Blues

Brendan Fevola sounded like a former lover with no hard feelings as he started
adjusting to life as a Lion.
While Carlton coach Brett Ratten is disappointed Fevola hasn't contacted him since
he was traded to Brisbane, the wayward full-forward is by no means bitter at the
Blues.

"Carlton will always be in my heart," Fevola said on Wednesday. "I love the Carlton
footy club, I was there since I was 17.
"My little girl runs around the house singing the theme song, I've got to get her to
try and to know the Brisbane theme song - I've got to learn that first and then
teach her.
"I was there for 11 years and gave them pretty good service and they looked after me
pretty well. I don't think I have a point to prove."
Fevola enjoyed a farewell party in Melbourne at the weekend and stressed his former
Carlton teammates and support staff personnel would forever remain friends - even
after their round-two Easter Thursday blockbuster at the Gabba.
But the 28-year-old is now determined to be a Lion for life after falling for the
warmer Queensland weather and more relaxed lifestyle.
Fevola admitted to nerves in starting his second football life with Lions'
pre-season training at a Noosa fitness camp.
Ironically, the Sunshine Coast holiday spot has also attracted Blues captain Chris
Judd and his fiancee Rebecca Twigley for the week.
Fevola, who severely upset Judd with his alcohol-fuelled Brownlow Medal antics,
intends meeting the newly-engaged couple in between fitness work and meetings.
"Hopefully I'll catch up with him for a coffee," he said. "(The engagement) is
obviously great.
"He's been with Bec a long time and he's finally put the ring on her - another good
man bites the dust."
