VN-Index lost 3.75 percent in Nov. 9’s trading
Hanoi (VNA) – The VN-Index lost 3.75 percent in Nov. 9’s trading on the HCM
Stock Exchange, shedding 20.79 points from the previous Friday’s close to end the
day at 534.09.
Trading volume also dropped 19 percent from the previous session to 47.7 million
shares, worth just over 2 trillion VND (109.3 million USD), a decline of 31 percent.
Banking shares remained the most active on the southern bourse, as Eximbank
(EIB) led the market with 3.6 million shares traded, followed by Sacombank (STB)
with 2.9 million.
On the Hanoi Stock Exchange, the HNX-Index slipped 3.88 percent to end the day at
181.81, after losing 7.33 points. Volume passed 22 million shares changing hands but
represented a decline of 39 percent from the previous session.
The value of the day’s trades slid even further, off nearly 44 percent to around
851.2 billion VND (46.5 million USD).
Vinaconex (VCG) was the most active share on the northern market, with 2.28 million
shares changing hands, followed by Asian Commercial Bank (ACB) with 1.75 million.
In contrast to domestic investors, foreign investors on Nov. 9 finished the day as
net buyers in HCM City of 3.85 million shares, worth a combined 175.45 billion VND
(9.6 million USD), and net sellers of 322,000 shares with a combined 20.24 billion
VND (1.1 million USD) in Hanoi.-Enditem
