Iranian, Syrian presidents stress importance of resistance

IRI President and Syria’s President Bashar al-Assad in a meting on sidelines of 25th economic summit of OIC, stressed importance of regional people’s resistance.

According to IRNA, the IRI Presidential Website reported that the two presidents reviewed the most important developments of the Islamic world and the ways for deepening bilateral ties as far as possible during the meeting.
Ahmadinejad and Assad were agreed on the point that the regional people’s resistance and the Islamic countries’ solidarity can dismantle the plots hatched by the enemies.
The President of the Islamic Republic of Iran referred to the shared interests for and shared threats against Tehran and Damascus, reiterating, “It is necessary that the two countries would have the required level of harmony and comprehensive cooperation in various fields.”
President Bashar al-Assad, too, evaluating the bilateral ties as “satisfactory”, asked for their further deepening and expansion as far as possible in various fields.
He meanwhile stressed the necessity for solidarity and unity among Islamic countries over important regional and international issues.
