Presidents of Iran, Turkey, Syria, Afghanistan meet

The presidents of Iran, Turkey, Syria and Afghanistan here on Monday reviewed issues of common interest.

The talks were held on the sidelines of the 25th Session of the Standing Committee for Economic and Commercial Cooperation (COMCEC) of the Organization of the Islamic Conference (OIC) underway in this Turkish city.

The COMCEC’s agenda as well as the latest regional developments particularly the situation in Afghanistan were reviewed by the four presidents at the breakfast banquet this morning.

Iran’s President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad, heading a delegation, arrived in Istanbul on Sunday to attend the COMCEC summit and review expansion of bilateral cooperation with senior Turkish officials.

President Ahmadinejad has so far met and conferred with Turkish Prime Minister Tayyip Erdogan and President Abdullah Gul.
