Bishop 'knows nothing of Hitler video'

Deputy Opposition Leader Julie Bishop says she knows nothing about a spoof online
video likening federal Liberal MP Alex Hawke to Adolf Hitler.

The video, posted on the YouTube website, is called Alex Hawke Liberal Party
Downfall and shows an actor playing Hitler ranting in German to his lieutenants.
Superimposed over the footage are captions suggesting the diatribe is Mr Hawke
deriding staffers for not defeating his inter-factional enemy and former boss, NSW
upper house Liberal MP David Clarke.
Fairfax reported on Saturday that an email exchange between Mr Clarke's media
adviser Charles Perrottet and Mr Turnbull's junior staffer Tom Tudehope linked the
pair to the video.
Mr Turnbull announced Mr Tudehope's resignation later that day.
"I have made it clear to my staff for many years that they are not to be involved in
so-called factional activities within the party," Mr Turnbull said in a statement.
"Tom Tudehope maintains he had no involvement in the production or dissemination of
the video.
"He has nonetheless offered his resignation and I have accepted it."
Ms Bishop said on Sunday she knew nothing about the controversy.
"I'm certainly not aware. That's the first time I've heard of it," she told
reporters in Perth.
"It's certainly nothing that I'm aware of so, sorry, I can't comment."
