AZERI PANKRATION WRESTLERS TO BATTLE FOR WORLD MEDALS

Baku, November 8 (AzerTAc). Young Azerbaijani pankration wrestlers will compete in the world championship kicking off next weekend in Omsk, Russia.
According to President of the Azerbaijan Pankration Federation Azad Asgarov, the tournament will bring together nearly 200 wresters from 15 countries, including Greece, Australia, India, Cyprus, Iran, Cameroon, Latvia, Lithuania, Ukraine and Belarus.
“Azeri wrestlers will compete in three weight categories, and we pin great hopes on them,” said Asgarov.
Coach Ruhi Huseynov`s squad includes Malik Mammadov who will wrestle in the 40kg, Ziya Fataliyev in the 48kg, Israfil Musasoylu and Nazenin Mammadova in the 52kg, Elvin Malikov in the 56kg, Vugar Karimov and Ajdar Mehdizadeh in the 57kg, Khayala Asgarova in the 58kg, Elvin Jafarov in the 62kg, Alakbar Habibov in the 64kg, Aslan Rustamov in the 67kg and Ilham Teymurov in the 70kg divisions.
