AZERI MP VISITS HUNGARY

Baku, 7 November (AzerTAc). Member of Azerbaijan Parliament (Milli Majlis) Khanhuseyn Kazimli visited Hungary from November 2 to 6.
During the trip, Kazimli attended the 4th International Scientific Conference on “Azerbaijan-Hungary: dialogue of cultures” organized in Azerbaijan`s embassy in Budapest where he briefed the participants on the current political and economic situation in his country.
As part of the visit, Kazimli met with vice-president of the Hungarian parliament Laszlo Mandur to discuss bilateral cooperation in political, economic, cultural and other areas. The sides praised the fact that friendship groups exist in the two countries` legislative bodies.
Touching upon the energy cooperation, Mandur stressed the role of Azerbaijan in ensuring energy security of Hungary and the entire Europe. According to him, Hungary highly values Azerbaijan`s supporting the Nabucco project. He underlined his country is ready to contribute to Azerbaijan to integrate into Europe more rapidly.
Kazimli, in turn, said relations between Azerbaijan and Hungary had recently strengthened even more. He underscored the importance of the conference on “Azerbaijan-Hungary: dialogue of cultures” in terms of boosting “friendly relations” between the two countries.
Khanhuseyn Kazimli also met with head of the Azerbaijan-Hungary friendship group in the country`s parliament Janos Horvath. The Azerbaijani MP hailed the current level of relationship between the two countries. He thanked Hungary for supporting his country`s territorial integrity, adding official Budapest played special role during the adoption of 4 resolutions on the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict by the United Nations Security Council in 1993.
For his part, Horvath said his country attaches great importance to deepening relations with Azerbaijan.
On the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict he noted Hungary considers that the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict must be settled on the basis of Azerbaijan`s territorial integrity. He added the European Union supports the principles of international law, and is against violent separatism and ethnic cleansing.
Azerbaijan`s ambassador to Hungary was present in the meetings.
