AZERBAIJAN TO PRESENT MODEL OF NATIONAL SATELLITE
Baku, November 3 (AzerTAc). An approved model of Azerbaijan`s national satellite will be demonstrated at Azerbaijan International Telecommunications and Information Technologies Exhibition BakuTel-2009 kicking off Wednesday, according to Deputy ICT Minister Elmir Velizadeh.
According to the approved plan, the Azerspace satellite will be launched into orbit in December 2011 to cover Europe and significant part of Asia, said Velizadeh.
The satellite will have transmission facilities for TV and radio broadcasting and Internet.
American company Orbital Sciences Corporation has won an international tender to make Azerbaijan`s first satellite.
