US, EU briefed on Yemen's effort to end al-Houthi conflict

SANA'A, Nov. 02 (Saba) -
Foreign Minister Abu Bakr al-Qirbi briefed on Monday ambassadors of United States
and the
European Union countries on efforts taken by the government for ending the sabotage
actions broke out by al-Houthi elements.

Al-Qirbi stated that the government seeks many times to reach a ceasefire but the
rebels refuse to comply.
The Minister also declared that the government is taking its full responsibility
towards the displaced people from Saada and it is keen to facilitate the
humanitarian aid
access to them.
He added that though the government has opened safe passages for delivering the
needed assistance but the rebellion elements impede the aid delivering by planting
mines
in roads.
The government called and still calling for a comprehensive dialogue to address any
issue concerning the country and the citizens, he affirmed.
Al-Qirbi hailed the US and EU supportive positions towards Yemen unity and
stability as well as keenness of these states to provide support and aid for Yemen
in various
fields.
For his part, the Spanish ambassador to Yemen Marcos Vega hailed, in a statement
speaking on behalf the EU ambassadors, efforts of Yemen in order to tackle issues
rising
from the government and rebels' confrontations.
The ambassador also reaffirmed the EU position in supporting unity, security and
stability of Yemen.
